Eyes wide with bewilderment and soft lips gaped. You sense Anne as she realizes what she has accomplished and find yourself wondering what exactly it feels like to experience such a feat.
This is a piece anyone could truly get lost in with a mere glance.
With a unique style I rarely see utilized, cross hatch works perfectly at emphasizing the light and shadows playing upon her features and equipment, helping bring this piece to life. The emptiness of space surrounding her brought to your attention by the lack of color. I cannot help but feel this drawing possesses more emotion than the actual photograph.
You can hardly tell this is the artist's first attempt at cross hatch. With some slightly awkward lines in the background it doesn't detour from the overall quality of realism found here.
I personally would like to see more cross hatch style from you, Scottric, to see how fast and far you can bloom using this technique.
